A criminal case was initiated in Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee on violence against the investigator of RA Special Investigatory Service while conducting investigatory action in a penitentiary.
On June 2, 2015, at about 15:00 a confrontation with participation of the prisoner of “Nubarashen” penitentiary of RA Ministry of Justice was conducted by the investigator of RA Special Investigatory Service in the room N 3 of the same penitentiary, designed for investigatory actions.
During the investigation it was found that while conducting the investigatory action the prisoner scolded the police employees. Then the investigator demanded to stop scolding but the man went on and punched at the right part of the latter’s face thus using violence not dangerous for life and health against a representative of authorities concerned with performance of his official duties.
On June 3, 2015 a criminal case was initiated in Yerevan Investigative Department of RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 of RA Criminal Code.
A forensic examination was appointed. Necessary investigatory and procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive and objective examination of circumstances of the case.
Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
