Gevorg was a conscript soldier when the enemy unleashed the war against Artsakh on 27 September, 2020.

“He had many goals. He said: ‘I should go to the army as soon as possible, come to study at the university, and finish it.” He was a sergeant. He served in Armavir for 6 months, and then he was taken to Artsakh. He served very well. He served with love. Their squad was praised, it was a well-prepared squad. On 27 September, Gevorg called and said, “Mom, It is bombings here, but after that he did not talk about the war,” his mother says.

The commander told Gevorg’s parents that the soldier fought very well and was very patriotic, and also was a commander as a sergeant-major.

Gevorg and his comrades-in-arms were surrounded, but he did not tell his mother about it, his parents found out later. Mrs. Susanna says that Gevorg spoke only of positive things, how beautiful nature and the forest were where they stayed.

“His last call was on 1 November, he talked to me, said that he had no mood. He said that they were digging ditches. The last point was in “Martuni 3″. They were bombed by planes. He even saved his friend’s life. Then they remained under the ground. They were very deep. The soil has suffocated them. The friends searched for 4 days to find him,” the mother said.
