He loved me very much, he used to come into the house and say, “Dear Mum,”, that “deaR” was always there. Karine Hovsepyan, the mother of Andranik Ohanyan, who died in the 44-day war, told within the framework of ” Immortal Victims of the Artsakh War” series of Iravaban.net.
“Everything in life was a joy for him, there was a lot of love in him. He always had good hopes. He was a child who lived lightly. He always took care of me himself, bought my medicine, took care of me. He had many dreams and would achieve them. He was very strong, he was seasoned,” the mother said and added that she was afraid, she did not want her son to go to the service.
Mrs. Karine urged her son to stay with her. Andranik had health problems as well, but that was not an obstacle for him either. Andranik was sure that the boy should serve. After learning about his health problems, Andranik went to the military commissariat and said that he should serve. On 16 January, 2019, Andranik was drafted into the army. Served in “Martuni 3”.
“He was very happy. I used to say: Andranik, aren’t you upset, don’t you have any health problems? He said, “Mum dear, the air is so cool, I feel very good here,” his mother recalls.
When the enemy unleashed a large-scale aggression against Artsakh on September 27, 2020, there was very little time left for Andranik to come home. “I used to say: Dear Andranik, you must come home, you should definitely come home, you must come home victorious.”
The last phone conversation between Andranik and Mrs. Karine was on 10 October, on that day the mother reminded her son that he should definitely come home, and the son said that they were taken to the 2nd line.
“Gor Ishkhanyan gave an order: get down from the post, we will take you to a good place, the children got down. They set off in a fighting mood, happy, singing, not even thinking that they might be surrounded. The section is called the 9th turn of Hadrut, in that part the Turks surrounded them. Azerbaijani soldiers in Armenian uniforms stopped their cars. During that time, whoever managed to escape – escaped, Andranik died from the shrapnel,” the mother tells.
Mrs. Karine blames the commander of the “Martuni-3” military unit, colonel Gor Ishkhanyan, for her son’s death.
It should be noted that according to the “Datalex” judicial information system, Gor Ishkhanyan is accused of negligent attitude towards the performance of his official duties during the declared martial law during the aggressive war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh on 27 September, 2020, which caused serious consequences.
The parents of the fallen servicemen filed a lawsuit against him, according to which, on 11 October, 2020, Gor Ishkhanyan ordered company of 73 people to go to Hadrut, which was already occupied. All 73 were killed.
