World champion, kindergarten director and mother. Senior sergeant of the 8th Fire Rescue Squad, Senior Firefighter Narine Geghamyan told Iravaban.net how she decided to leave her job as a kindergarten director and become a firefighter.

“I joined the system with great pleasure and love in 2015. Since my brothers also serve in the system, seeing all that, I had a great desire, but at that time I was working as a director of a kindergarten, I decided to leave the position of director and join the rescue service,” she says.

Our interlocutor has a 4-year-old child. When asked how she is able to combine service and family, she says that if there is a desire, a person can achieve everything and it works.

Narine was accepted into the system as a firefighter and participated in firefighting and other complex operations from the very first day.

“In my opinion, it is a human characteristic, and my sports data helps me to participate in these activities. I am a master of sports, I have a 3rd dan black belt, I am a world champion,” Narine said.

The work of a rescuer is complex and responsible. Our interlocutor says that she has worked in different situations. There was a case when they went to the place of the fire and it turned out that there were victims. A family member used physical force against her.

“He picked me up and threw to the ground. But by assessing the situation, we understand them; I took that case very hard, the family had died. However there are also calls that say: “The dove is not moving, the cat has climbed the tree,” she noted.

According to Narine, the mission of the rescuer is to be patient and consciously approach all kinds of people, because they deal with different people who are in different states of mind.

On 27 September, 2020, the war unleashed by Azerbaijan forced Narine to leave her one-year-old child and join the service.
