The day before yesterday, information was spread that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov presented a “Karabakh Carpet” to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
Vardan Astsatryan, Director of the Shushi Carpet Museum, emphasized in a conversation with Iravaban.net that the carpet is not a “Karabakh Carpet”.
“That carpet is a copy of the Armenian Vishapagorg (Dragon Carpet) of the 17th century, the Artsakh Dragon Carpet. Azerbaijanis are the former, which is not denied by them either, Pana Khan invaded Artsakh in the 18th century, and that carpet was made in Artsakh in the 17th century. It is a bit unclear. That carpet is a copy of the Artsakh Dragon Carpet of the 17th century,” he said.
