President Vahagn Khachaturyan signed a decree on 24 August, which states:

“Accepting the petition of the Prime Minister in accordance with Article 136 of the Constitution and Article 5.3, Parts 1 and 9 of the Law “On State Awards and Honorary Titles of the Republic of Armenia”:

To posthumously award the Medal for Combat Service to Vanik Aram GHAZARYAN, Junior Sergeant of the N military unit of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, for his courage and unwavering dedication while defending the borders of the Homeland.”

To remind, on 21 August, the RA Ministry of Defense reported that around 15:30, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units opened fire on the Armenian position located in the Akhpradzor sector, as a result of which 19-year-old Sergeant Vanik Aram Ghazaryan was killed.
