Armenian Team won 1Gold and 2 Bronze Medals at the 55th International Chemistry Olympiad

The 55th International Chemistry Olympiad was held in Zurich (Switzerland) from 16 to 25 July, in which the Armenian team won 1 gold and 2 bronze medals.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported.

Armenia was represented by Leonid Asatryan and Yuri Petrosyan, 12th-grade students of Quantum College, Tigran Mkhitaryan, 12th-grade student of Gyumri Photon College, and Arman Kharatyan, 10th-grade student of Vanadzor special school with advanced mathematics and science subjects.

Leonid Asatryan won a gold medal, Tigran Mkhitaryan and Arman Kharatyan won bronze medals, and Yuri Petrosyan received a commendation.

Andranik Davinyan from RA NAS and Armen Galstyan from YSU led the Armenian team.

355 representatives from 90 countries took part in the Olympiad, with a maximum of 4 participants from each country. The Olympiad was held in practical and theoretical stages.

Notably, at the previous 54th International Olympiad in the subject “Chemistry”, which was held in online format, the Armenian team won 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.
