During the press conference on 24, Minister of Education, Science Cultureand Sports Zhanna Andreasyan addressed the issue of the creation of Russian schools in Armenia. She mentioned that we should not forget that RA has one state language and it is Armenian.
According to the Minister, its concept should be developed; a working group should be formed to discuss the issue. “The working group has been created. We have our ideas about what kind of joint project we can talk about. I said that we have a good example of a joint program; it is the Armenian-Chinese school. In terms of infrastructure, the Chinese Government has made a large investment. In addition, joint work was done in terms of content. Chinese language and Chinese history are taught in that school, and, in addition, specialists are sent from China, additional financial resources are invested. We presented this to the Russian side.”
According to the Minister, taking into account the large flow of RA citizens from Russia, the option of solving the problem of getting education only for them was also discussed. Andreasyan mentioned that discussions are still going on; the results will be reported additionally.
