The Census in the Republic of Armenia is conducted Once in Every 10 Years

The census is conducted periodically almost in all countries. The main objective of the census is to receive necessary information on the social and economic development trends of the state, the study of resource allocation and utilization, the number and composition of population, current record and forecasting, as well as to collect the necessary information on the population for the establishment of polling stations.

The census in the Republic of Armenia is conducted once in every 10 years.

The decision to conduct a census, which defines the census date is adopted by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, but not later than two years before conducting the census.

To prepare and to support conducting the census national and regional census committees are established. The composition of these committees is approved by the Government of the republic of Armenia.

The State and Local government agencies within their jurisdiction are responsible for preparing and conducting a census on due level.
