The Mayor of Yerevan Hrachya Sargsyan signed a protocol on 30 December, 2021, according to which the powers of the council member were terminated.

The protocol states:

“Based on Article 20, Part 1, Clause 6, and Part 4 of the RA Law on Local Government in the City of Yerevan, terminate the powers of Ovsanna Hovsepyan, a member of the Council of Elders of Yerevan elected by the Yerevan City Council electoral list.”

Iravaban.net reports that Article 20, Part 1, Clause 6 of the RA Law on Local Government in the City of Yerevan stipulates that the powers of a member of the Council of Elders are terminated prematurely if he/she resigns.

Earlier, Ovsanna Hovsepyan made a statement on resigning her mandate.
