The Republic of Armenia has applied to the European Court of Human Rights with a demand to ensure the fundamental rights of the Armenian servicemen captured during the aggressive actions unleashed by Azerbaijan on 16 November, 2021 in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia.

An application has been submitted to the European Court of Justice to impose an interim measure on Azerbaijan under Rule 39 of the Rules of Court, which aims to guarantee the right of captive servicemen to a life free from torture guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights.
