On 20 July, President Armen Sarkissian signed a new decree stating:
“Based on Article 131 of the Constitution, as well as Article 5, Part 1 of the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government.
To dismiss the acting Minister of Defense Vagharshak HARUTYUNYAN from his post.”
By another decree, Arshak Karapetyan was relieved of the post of First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
It should be reminded that he was appointed Minister of Defense by the 20 November decree of President Armen Sarkissian.
