On 15 May, at 22:30 Vanadzor Police department received a report from the hospital informing that a dead man’s body with penetrating stab-wound was hospitalized.

It was found out that at about 22:00 of the same day on Bagramyan Street of Vanadzor city, an unidentified person killed Tovma Matevosyan, born in 1978.

In result of the measures undertaken by the police officers of Lori Marz Police in cooperation with the officers of Vanadzor Police department it was established that around 22:00, on 15 May as a result of a conflict, which took place near the supermarket on Bagramyan street 21/15, Tigran M., born in 1976, caused Tovma Martirosyan an injury with intention to kill, by a cutting and stabbing instrument, and deliberately murdered the latter.

Criminal case under the requirements of Article 104 (1) of the RA Criminal Code has been initiated.

Detention has been set a s a measure of restraint against Tigranm., and currently he is wanted by the police. According to the information from the police a preinvestigation is in process.

Tovma Matevosyan is the nephew of the famous writer Hrant Matevosyan.

Note. Everyone charged with a criminal offense shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty by the court verdict lawfully entered into force as prescribed by Criminal Procedure Code.
