During the Second Artsakh War, which began on 27 September, 2020, as well as after the signing of the tripartite statement  on 9 November, 2020, Armenian civilians and servicemen continued to be taken prisoner. 19 of the captives were tortured and killed by Azerbaijani servicemen, which is considered a war crime. Representatives of the interests of prisoners and prisoners of war in the ECHR Siranush Sahakyan and Artak Zeynalyan made a statement about this.
