The convoy of units of the 15th separate peacekeeping brigade, which arrived to participate in the peacekeeping operation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, made a march about 100 km long from the area of concentration in the city of Goris to the city of Stepanakert.

The convoy included armored personnel carriers, automobiles, and logistical support previously delivered from the Russian Federation by Il-76 military transport aircraft to the Erebuni airfield.
The advance subdivisions of the peacekeeping brigade marched along the route Goris, Sus, Geytala, Lysogorsky pass, south-western outskirts of Shusha and began to deploy 4 observation posts in the “South” zone of responsibility.
Units of the peacekeeping contingent took control of the Lachin corridor and a section of the Lachin road – the Lysogorsky state farm with the setting up of 6 temporary observation posts.
In total, 10 observation posts have been deployed along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Lachin corridor.
They are entrusted with the task of collecting information on cases of violation of the ceasefire regime, promptly bringing this information to the command of the peacekeeping forces, as well as maintaining the safety of transit traffic and suppressing illegal actions against civilians. This will contribute to an early transition to a peaceful life and the return of refugees.
In the area of the peacekeeping operation, the tasks of the military police units that are part of the peacekeeping contingent will also carry out tasks. They are entrusted with conducting patrols along the line of contact of the sides, escorting convoys and cargo.
The peacekeeping contingent consists of contract servicemen who have undergone special training to carry out peacekeeping tasks, including studying and observing the norms of international humanitarian law in armed conflicts.
The peacekeeping contingent is equipped with modern weapons, military and special equipment, including armored personnel carriers BTR-82A, armored vehicles “Tiger” and “Typhoon”.
