Malatia-Sebastia administrative district investigation department of Yerevan Investigative Committee of the Investigation Department continues the preliminary investigation of the fact of hooliganism by using violence against the member of the Revolutionary Guards” group

The Investigative Committee reported.

The investigation revealed that on 21 June, 2020, at around 10:30 pm, on Tichina Street in Yerevan, a group of people hit Hayk Stepanyan, a member of the Revolutionary Guards, with their hands and feet in different parts of his body.

Notably, later on that same day two individuals born in 1989 and 1990 respectively came to the proceedings of the body voluntarily, and were arrested.

Based on the data obtained the latter were charged according to Article 258, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code (hooliganism). Signature on not leaving was applied against them as a measure of restraint.

The investigation is going on.

Investigative and other judicial actions are being carried out to find out all the circumstances of the case, the full circle of persons involved in the incident, their actions.

Note: The suspect or the accused of an alleged crime shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty under the RA Code of Criminal Procedure according to  the verdict of the court that has entered into force.
