The Prime Minister: Today we will discuss whether there is a Need to declare a State of Emergency

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan once again spoke about the coronavirus live. He noted that today, March 16, a government consultation will be held and it will be decided whether there is a need to declare a state of emergency regarding coronavirus in Armenia, at least in some areas.

He added that after yesterday’s data no new cases have been confirmed yet, in contrast he noted that a case of coronavirus was registered in one of Yerevan’s production companies and workers were carried out night among the employed of that company to find out who the contacts were so that to isolate.

“If a decision is made during the meeting that a state of emergency should be declared in Armenia or some of its territories that decision will also be taken. Of course, the state of emergency, even if declared, will not change much in our lives, only tighter control over the most epidemic risk zones, as it has been done in Echmiadzin since yesterday,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

As of March 16, 08:30, there are 28 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Armenia.
