“It is also noteworthy that the singer in his text actually stated exactly what was written in the ministry’s explanation. The program presented to the ministry was the staging of contemporary reading of Armenian poets,” he said.

Gor Sujyan had earlier denied that he was in favor of the performance.

“People, I just saw the minister mention my name as a specialist who approved this performance, but I want to point out that it is misleading information, as I did not approve such a performance. I was invited as a young musician to express my opinion on one or more cultural programs, but not as a specialist because the specialist is the person who is deeply informed by the programs. I, personally, was aware of the programs superficially, and if I am not mistaken, this performance was marked as “Reading Day of Armenian Authors of 1920s.” In any case, I am a Christian, and if I saw something that was against the Christian system of values, I would not approve of it.”
