On 20 September, the residents of Artsvashen village protesting in front of the government tried to cross the police barrier and enter the government building, but the police did not let them.

Residents of Artsvashen demand the compensation provided by the Government decision of 2009.
“We have lost our homeland; we have lost 5 thousand hectares. In 2009, the government made a decision to compensate the losses of the Artsvashen residents and allocated AMD 6 billion AMD. Only 10 per cent of the compensation was paid in 2011, which made 360,000 AMD per person, in the case when people have suffered great losses. Artsvahen residents, as displaced persons, have been placed in Chambarak, in ruins, most of which are subject to demolition. “This is not a political requirement; this is a popular demand for the authorities to draw their attention to their problem,” the president of the “Artsvashen and Sons” compatriotic union clarified.
