The General Assembly of Judges of the Republic of Armenia has elected a Candidate for the Judge Member of the Constitutional Court

On May 18, the General Assembly of Judges of the Republic of Armenia took place. The issues included in the agenda referred to the discussion and adoption of the draft resolution of the General Assembly of Judges of the Republic of Armenia “On Approval of the Procedure of the Activity of the General Assembly of Judges of the Republic of Armenia”, as well as the election and nomination of the candidate of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.

This was reported by Arman Khachatryan, Head of the Protocol and Public Relations Department of the Judicial Department.

The issues included in the agenda were unanimously approved by the Assembly.

According to Article 75 (1) of the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Armenia “Judicial Code”, Yelizaveta Danielyan Judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Cassation Court of the Republic of Armenia and Arman Dilanyan, Judge of the Administrative Court of the Republic of Armenia, were nominated as candidates for a member of the Constitutional Court.

The General Assembly of Judges of the Republic of Armenia nominated Yelizaveta Danielyan Judge of the Criminal Chamber of the Cassation Court of the Republic of Armenia, as a candidate to member of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia.

According to Article 141, Paragraph 4 of the Constitutional Law “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly”, all documents confirming the conformity with the Constitution and the law within the prescribed time limit has been provided to the President of the National Assembly.

Additionally, the Supreme Judicial Council does not intervene in the work of the General Assembly of Judges as it is a self-governing body of judges.
