1991-95 He studied at Yerevan State University.

In the fifth year of graduation,  YSU has been dismissed for  political reasons.

Since 1992 has been involved in active journalism.

He has worked in “Dprutyun”, “Armenia”, “Lragir”, “Lragir or” and “Molorak” newspapers. In 1998, the “Oragir” newspaper was founded, which was closed in 1999 by the court order for political motives.

In 1999 he was appointed Editor -in-Chief of  “Haykakan Zhamanak” daily , occupying this post until 2012.

In August 1999, he was sentenced to one year in prison for political motives.

Later, the appellate court postponed the imprisonment for a year, as a result of which the imprisonment was not executed.

PIn 2007, he was the founding member of the “Aylyntrank” political Initiative. In the 2007 parliamentary elections, the first issue of the “Impeachment” alliance’s proportional list was published. 2008 During the presidential election, he was a member of the pre-election headquarters of presidential candidate Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

After 1 March 2008, being in search for a year, he spent four months in hiding.

On 1 July, 2009, voluntarily came to the RA Prosecutor General’s Office where he was arrested and sentenced to 7 years in prison on December 1, 2008 on charges of organizing mass disorders on 1 March, 2008. Having spent one year and 11 months in prison, he was released on 27 May, 2011 by an amnesty decision.

In the 2012 parliamentary elections, he was elected a member of the National Assembly’s proportional list of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) bloc.

In 2013-2015, he was a member of the “Civil Contract” political party’s Board.

On May 30, 2016 he was elected a member of the Board of the “Civil Contract” Party.

On 2 April, 2017 he was elected as a deputy of the National Assembly in the constituency # 4, which includes the “Ylk” parties’ alliance, Kentron, Erebuni, Nork-Marash and Nubarashen communities.
