In a special session of the National Assembly, human rights activist Artak Zeynalyan asked the President of Armenia and the candidate for the Prime Minister, Serzh Sargsyan, about the decision of the Government to take the building and the constructions adjacent to the premises of the 6th building attached to the Presidential Staff on the balance of “Kond Private Houses Industrys” SNCO (1.5365 ha), and to provide on gratis the resigned president of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan as an apartment.
In response to this question, Serzh Sargsyan said that the law on allocating a resigned president was adopted in the National Assembly, and the previous two presidents have enjoyed that right.
A. According to Zeynalyan’s observation, the issue of concern was is that the apartment was provided from the above mentioned SNCO territory, Serzh Sargsyan replied:
“What’s the difference? I do not see any difference. If I were to see a difference, I would have asked not to do so. It is beneficial for the state, there is no need for additional protection, there are several premises in that SNCO that are free until now, the NA President Mr. Babloyan did not want to come to the prime minister’s Private Hoуse.”
Artak Zeynalyan also addressed a number of other issues related to election bribes and fraud, political persecutions, and ECHR decisions.
