Today, on 26 March, parliamentary hearings related to the decision of prescribing drugs are being held in the National Assembly.

Narek Yenokyan, the Expert of the Armenian Lawyer’s Association, asked Hakob Topchyan, Director of the Drug and Medical Technology Expertise Center. “When a doctor writes a prescription, one copy of it shall remain in the medical institution and the other at the pharmacy. But imagine a situation when a doctor writes a prescription and only one drug listed in the prescription is available at the pharmacy, and the other is not available or the patient does not have the opportunity to buy the other one. What should the patient do in this case?”

Topchyan said that we have 4 types of prescriptions, two of which are related to narcotics. “In such cases, they just make a copy. Copies are given to the patient, the release of drug is registered at the pharmacy and the patient can obtain the other drugs by submitting the copy. “
