In 2011, Gevorg Kostanyan was the Military Prosecutor and the Deputy Prosecutor general of the RA. At the beginning of the fiscal year his funds totaled to only 200 thousand AMD and 5 thousand USD. At the end of the year they were 25 million AMD and 5 thousand USD respectively.
The judicial bribery case which received much publicity in December 2014 has been solved.
A working discussion on the main corruption problems in the business sector was held in the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia. Members of the Coalition’s Governing Board, representatives of its Secretariat and independent experts took part in the discussion.
Alessandro Zanotta, Economic Governance and Public Administration Reforms Adviser at the EU Delegation to Armenia, noted at the anti-corruption event organized in Vanadzor on 29 July that the current anti-corruption platform of cooperation between civil society organisations and the government is the best format to achieve results in Armenia and if successful other countries will learn from this experience.
