Withdrawal of Complaints will be perceived negatively both by the Court and the International Community: Human Rights Activists warn

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, both at the press conference held a few days ago, and during the National Assembly-Government question-and-answer session on 20 March, stated that he does not rule out that Armenia will withdraw its complaints against Azerbaijan in international courts, if a peace treaty is signed.

After that, human rights activists as well as the current and former human rights defenders issued a statement stating that such actions can cause irreparable damage to Armenia and the Armenian people.

In an interview with Iravaban.net, Human Rights Defender Siranush Sahakyan noted that there have already been recorded cases when Armenia and Azerbaijan reached agreements and signed documents, but after their signing, the agreements were unilaterally violated, and Armenia did not have any tools in order to prevent those violations.
