In 2023, the Supreme Judicial Council examined 17 petitions to subject judges to disciplinary responsibility. 14 of the mentioned 17 petitions were presented by the Minister of Justice, 3 by the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the General Assembly of Judges. During the same year, the authority of 8 judges was terminated by the decisions of the SJC, 7 of the petitions were submitted by the Minister of Justice. On 16 November, the National Assembly accepted in the 2nd reading and completely the amendments made to the Judicial Code, which will give judges the opportunity to appeal the decisions adopted by the SJC.
