The National Security Service and the Passport and Visa Department lost in the administrative court. An Iranian citizen who had come to Armenia to do business had applied for temporary residence status in Armenia and was rejected on the basis of a negative conclusion from the National Security Service. It was not clarified why it was rejected. That is why the foreign citizen had applied to the court.

According to lawyer Ashkhen Dashyan, the provision of the law, according to which the citizen is refused to be granted residence status, noting that “he has a purpose other than what has been announced”, is an indefinite wording. The person is not able to be involved in that proceedings, present counter-arguments, find out the grounds for rejection, etc. According to the lawyer, there are many such cases in such courts, and there will be no additional burden if the right administration is carried out.
