In December 2017, the government approved the draft law on making changes and additions to the RA Law on Holidays and Remembrance Days” on reducing the number of non-working days on New Year and Christmas holidays. The new government, however, did not approve the draft; the non-working days remained the same.

It was proposed to remove 3, 4 and 5 January from the list of non-working days, ie non-working days would be only from December 31 to January 2, and January 6. Recently, the issue of reducing non-working days has become a subject of discussion again.
