Head of the Tax Office is arrested on Suspicion of taking a Bribe

On suspicion of taking a bribe for the case tried at the Investigation Department of the RA National Security Service, Aram Hovsepyan, the former head of the 6th fraction of the Operative Investigation Department of the RA National Income Committee, head of Armavir Tax Office of the RA Ministry of Finance, was arrested. It turned out that during the inspections conducted in the company belonging to R.A.,  he demanded and received $ 30.000 bribe for ignoring and not recording the tax responsibilities  emerged as a  result of the unfounded reduction of money of  the value added tax and income tax. Aram Hovsepyan had done the same thing in December 2008. He had demanded and received $ 40.000 bribe for the same bargain of  ignoring and not recording the fact  of the unfounded reduction of money of  the value added tax and income tax. The preliminary investigation is in process.

Note: The suspect or the accused of the alleged offence is deemed innocent unless his or her innocence is proved by virtue of the effective court verdict in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia.
