“Haykakan Zhamanak” Daily writes, “Yesterday, sensational details became known about the developments around the Sports and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan. Armine Hakobyan, the lawyer of the Complex told our reporter that they had received a written explanation from the Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service clarifying the process of evaluation of the price of the Complex prior to putting up for auction. According to Hakobyan The Enforcement Service estimated the price of the Complex based on the cost of one square meter in the apartment building in Ajapnyak district of Yerevan. In this method the price of Sports and Concert Complex was estimated 28 billion AMD. On the assumption of the fact that no buyers were found after several auctions the price was reduced up to 10 billion 283 million AMD.
However no one wished to buy the Complex at this price as well. Thus, at the Government session, which took place last week it was decided to transfer the Sports and Concert Complex to the Ministry of Defense on property rights. Currently, questions regarding the legality of the process are emerging; one of these questions is linked to the assessment methodology.”
