During the Extraordinary Elections to the National Assembly, the members of rapid response groups of the “Informed and Protected Voter” Initiative, which provides legal assistance to the citizens, visited around 131 polling stations in Geghrkunik marz. The rapid response groups have recorded a number of violations at the polling stations.

For example, as a result of the small area the polling boxes were located near to each other or as a result of the lack of awareness people voting violated the procedure of voting, which were corrected by the committee members.

Members of the initiative noticed posters with pre-election agitation near polling stations 20/19, 20/8, 19/34, which were removed after they notified about it the chairmen of the committees and the police (also available in the video).

In 19/36 polling station, the member of “Informed and Protected Voter” Initiative noticed that one of the voters was looking for an additional ballot of the preferred political party in the voting booth. However, after intervening of the member of “Informed and Protected” the incident recorded in the register and the action was stopped.

The camera did not record the whole composition of the election committee in the polling station 19/31. In polling station 19/32, the camera did record the voting booths, the member of the initiative informed the committee chairman about that and the latter immediately fixed the problem.

During the visits, some citizens have appealed to the “Informed and Protected Voter” Initiative to inform them on how to vote. The initiative observers explained the voting procedure.

Rapid response group also received calls related to mismatches of the numbers of the ratings candidates. In this regard members of the Initiative provided legal advice on the issue and in addition they were referred to apply to the Ombudsman’s office in Gavar.

The members of “Informed and Protected Voter” Initiative, provided legal assistance to all applicants.
