There are Many Young People who do not understand where they go and what they do – this is the Result of the 2017 Elections: MP

Demonstrations against Serzh Sargsyan’s election to the Prime Minister’s post are going on in the streets of Yerevan City. Iravaban.net spoke about their reasons with MP Karine Achemyan. “It’s clear that our country is not an ideal, we have a lot of problems and maybe there are dissatisfied people. I think that over the years we will do our utmost to dispel disapproval of these people. But there are also many contradictions among these layers, I did not want to address it, but there are many young people who do not understand where they go and what they do. This is the result of the 2017 elections,” Karine Achemyan said in the interview with Iravaban.net at the National Assembly today, on April 17 .

In reply to the reporter’s question whether the actions of the policemen are justified and legitimate, the deputy said: “I think our policemen are more tolerant. See what happens during rallies and demonstrations in European countries when violence against a police officer is used. And we saw that they threw stones. In European countries, the police immediately respond. Our policemen are far more tolerant. If there is violation of law, they should be obliged to respond,” Karine Achemyan said.

As we have already informed, today metal detectors were placed at the doors of the National Assembly session hall, in response to the question of the reason for their installation, she answered that there are two possible factors: both the protests going on outside and also Serge Sargsyan’s arrival to the NA. “We must keep the safety rules, and possibility that provocative events can happen today is a fact,” she added.
