The relatives and friends of Ashot Arushanyan who was found guilty for assisting in the theft of 56,4 mln AMD, today held a protest action in front of the RA Criminal Court of Appeals which investigates this case.

Let us remind that the First instance court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities presided by judge Mesrop Makyan found Edgar Karakeshishyan and Ashot Arushanyan guilty by the 1st point of the 3rd part of Article 177 of the RA Criminal Code (theft in particularly large amounts for which the law prescribes 4-8 years of imprisonment) and convicted Edgar Karakeshishyan to 7-year imprisonment and Ashot Arushanyan to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment. The court also satisfied the civil lawsuit presented by the “Manana Grain” LLC on a compensation of 55 mln 500 thousand AMD for the material damage caused by the crime.
Right now the court resumed the stage of judicial argumentations, and Ashot Arushanyan`s lawyer Liparit Simonyan is making a defense speech.
