The Criminal Court of Appeals presided by judge Karine Ghazaryan made a decision today to keep unchanged the appeal on the case of Edgar Karakeshishyan and Ashot Arushanyan recognized guilty of the theft of 56 mln 400000 AMD. The appeal was presented by Ashot Arushanyan`s attorney Liparit Simonyan requesting to justify his defendant.
The participants received the decision of the Court of Appeals with whistles and shoutings “Shame, shame”.
Let us remind that the theft was committed from the car of Armen Manukyan, deputy director of “Manana Grain” LLC. The court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities found Ashot Arushanyan guilty by the 1st point of 3rd part of Article 177 of the RA Criminal Code (prescribing from 4 to 8 years of imprisonment for the theft of particularly large amounts) and convicted Edgar Karakeshihsyan to 7 years of imprisonment, and Ashot Arushanyan to 5 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
