We live by devouring each other: Vladimir Gasparyan after the announcement of the verdict

Former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, answering journalists’ questions in the yard of the court, noted that there is no verdict yet. “We will know the verdict, then we will make an official statement. The court is for the purpose to find someone guilty and not find another one not guilty.”

“I always expect everything,” the former Chief of Police said in response to the journalists question whether the verdict was expected.

To the journalist’s question whether in Gasparyan’s opinion there was pressure on the court, Gasparyan replied that it would be a frivolous conversation, and he did not want to express an opinion.

“I declare now and continue to say that I am innocent. Let me tell you, there was no political persecution, but a few adventurers tried to trick a little to please their leaders.”

The journalist asked when Gasparyan would provide names, to which the former Chief of Police replied jokingly, “The day after tomorrow.”

Hearing that Valery Osipyan responded to the statements made about him, Gasparyan said that he did not want to talk about the “deceased”. “He was our contact, he was told what he had to hear and pass further.”

“When a person is ill, he does not have energy. How old was I then, how old am I now? We are getting older,” Gasparyan responded to the question that there were opinions that Gasparyan’s assessments of the government became softened.

“It is better for a person to be imprisoned than to live in an environment, that we currently are living in. We live by devouring each other.”

Speaking about the presiding judge Vardges Sargsyan, Gasparyan mentioned that he has a high opinion of the latter’s personality. “Yesterday I also read that he has the rating of the best judge.”
