Death or Freedom: Tatul – Special Forces, Beloved Son, Husband and Monte’s Father
He was always in military songs and events in the kindergarten. From a young age, patriotism had entered him. He lived by that. He wanted to go to Monte Melkonyan Military College, then to Vazgen Sargsyan Military University.
Tatul Hakobyan’s mother, Gayane Barbaryan, tells about her son’s military path who died in the Artsakh war. “At that time he was not advised to go to Monte Melkonyan College, I said you will not go, Tatul, how excited he was. He said, “Why do you decide my fate instead of me?” He cried and said, “I want to go,” Mrs. Gayane said.
Then he took part in the Olympiad in the region, the governor said that they would help, he would go and be admitted to the Vazgen Sargsyan Military University. Tatul was happy than ever. “I was saying, ‘No, Tatul, I was feeling, womething was holding me from inside, I was feeling.’ He rebelled, he was offended and said that he is a grown up, and we were deciding decide for him, but the mother’s heart will never be deceived,” the soldier’s mother said.
After compulsory military service, Tatul decided to join a Special Forces group.
“He said, ‘Mom, if I die, you will bury me with song and dance.'”
Tatul took part in the Four-Day April War, in 2020 in the Tavush battles, and the last battle was the Artsakh war.
He managed to love, be loved, have a son, Monte. “Always remember if I lose my legs and arms aor even be blown up, I’m fine,” Tatul’s wife Anahit Aleksanyan tells. According to her, they still had to have Sose, Syune, Nzhdeh, they had to have a house of real heroes.
“He fell in love, he changed the class in high school so that we could study in the same class. After our engagement, he made a proposal of marriage on top of Aragats Mount,” Anahit says.
Tatul’s brother Gor Hakobyan mentions that Tatul also served in the peacekeeping mission in Syria and received awards from the Russian Federation and the United Arab Emirates.
