On October 27, 1999 an attack on the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia took place during the regular session of the Government.

RA NA Speaker Karen Demirchyan, Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, Deputy Speekers of the National Assembly Ruben Miroyan and Yuri Bakhshyan, Minister on Operative Issues Leonard Petrosyan Leonard Petrosyan, MPs Armenak Armenakyan, Henrik Abrahamyan and Mikayel Kotanyan fell victims as a result of the actions of the terrorist group. 8 people were wounded and 91 were injured, captured.

The verdict on the case of October 27 was published on December 2, 2003. According to the court decision, six people were sentenced to life imprisonment, one to 14 years in prison.
