“Participatory Monitoring for the Establishment of Smart Communities in Armenia” Project presented to CSO representatives in Vanadzor

On 21 June, Mr. Haykaram Drmeyan, Manager of “Participatory Monitoring for the Establishment of Smart Communities in Armenia” Project, which is implemented in the framework of economic sector sub-grant component of the EU-funded “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” Project and Ms Arpine Hakobyan, the project representative, presented the project to the representatives of CSOs’ Incubators group in Vanadzor.

Haykaram Dmeyan noted that the objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of services provided by local self-government bodies in large communities selected in Shirak, Lori and Tavush marzes through improving public policioes, monitoring and advocacy.

“Participatory Monitoring for the Establishment of Smart Communities in Armenia” Project activities will be the following,

  1. Creation Working group,
  2. Training of Citizen-Monitoring specialists
  3. Surveys and analysis of results among the residents of six communities in three marzes,
  4. Data Query from Local Self Government Bodies:
  5. Creation of Coalition.

Civil society organizations (CSO) incubators are aimed at promoting CSO capacity building and enhancing productivity.
