What are the Prospects for Peace?

What are the prospects for peace? Today MP Samvel Farmanyan asked this question to the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan.

The Minister did not provide a clear answer, only accused the leadership of Azerbaijan: “Azerbaijan may wish to present that the RA id leaving the negotiation process and is against this process. It’s a lie. There has always been for the negotiations, and peaceful conflict resolution. Armenia did not refuse to meet. If the meetings were canceled or delayed, it is Azerbaijan’s fault. The last occurrences was in Washington, when Azerbaijan refused to meet with the Co-Chairs. And of course today they make the futile attempts to question the tripartite ceasefire. Such attempts were made in diplomatic backstage. The Co-Chairs provided an appropriate response, and they said what we are saying that the tripartite agreement is in force and its provision must be r5ealised. Azerbaijan is in fact opposed to the opinion of international community…”

In addition Edward Nalbandyan clarified why Azerbaijan umleashed the war.

According to him, Azerbaijanis took this step because they failed in negotiations.

However, he noted that the Azerbaijani side will have to return to the negotiating table, because there are no other ways out in international history.
