“Let me spit at their Faces,” Disorders during the First Court Session of the Case on Cadet Haykaz Barseghyan’s Death

The first court session in relation to the death case of Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute cadent Haykaz Barseghyan was held in tense atmosphere. Right at the beginning of the court session at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Avan and Nor Nork Administrative Districts, disorders started between the relatives of the deceased and the defendants.

The journalist of Iravaban.net reports from the court room that when the defendants were brought into the courtroom, insults and curses were addressed to them. Haykaz’s relatives even tried to approach the young men, and the mother was shouting: “Let me spit at their faces”.

After all this the escorting police had to remove the defendants from the courtroom. Haykaz’s mother’s state of health deteriorated sharply, the officers were calming the relatives of the victim, and the relatives of the defendants left the courtroom in order not to flare the passions. As a result the session was interrupted; the presiding judge Davit Harutyunyan announced a break.
