Robbery, Illegal Possession of Firearms, and Aggravated Hooliganism: The Criminal Charges Against Nver Tsarukyan

Earlier, we reported that an incident occurred at a casino around 03:30 on October 26.

According to our information, an argument broke out between casino employees and Nver Tsarukyan and his bodyguards, which escalated into a fight, and shots were fired.

The Investigative Committee informed Iravaban.net that criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the casino incident. Criminal charges have been brought against 5 individuals, detention has been chosen as a preventive measure, and a search warrant has been issued.

Lawyer Emin Khachatryan, who considers the charges against Tsarukyan’s son unfounded, stated that in his opinion, the charge is a result of incorrect legal assessment, and Nver Tsarukyan has been sent on business trips to Belarus and the Russian Federation.

To obtain more comprehensive information on the topic, Iravaban.net sent an inquiry to the Investigative Committee.

The preliminary investigation body detailed the charges against wealthy Gagik Tsarukyan’s son.

We also learned that Nver Tsarukyan had been sent to Belarus.

The Investigative Committee informed that in the criminal proceedings being investigated by the Kotayk Regional Investigation Department, public criminal prosecution has been initiated against Nver Tsarukyan under Article 46-253, Part 2, Points 1 and 2 (Complicity in robbery committed by: 1) a group of persons by prior agreement, 2) using technical means, specially adapted equipment or other items or means, or by destroying, damaging or bypassing equipment, systems, structures or other means intended for property protection or preservation), Article 335, Part 1 (Illegal acquisition, sale, possession, transportation, delivery or carrying of firearms (except for civilian smoothbore firearms, ammunition or components thereof), its main components, ammunition, rifled firearm cartridges, explosives or explosive devices), and Article 297, Part 3 (Hooliganism committed with a weapon or object prepared or adapted for causing bodily injury, or with the threat of its use), and detention has been applied as a preventive measure and a search warrant issued.

In the criminal proceedings, public criminal prosecution has been initiated against the other 4 defendants, one of whom is currently in custody, under Article 253, Part 2, Points 1 and 2 (Robbery committed by: 1) a group of persons by prior agreement, 2) using technical means, specially adapted equipment or other items or means, or by destroying, damaging or bypassing equipment, systems, structures or other means intended for property protection or preservation), Article 474, Part 2, Point 1 (Concealment without prior promise or otherwise assisting a person who committed a crime, with the purpose of hindering the detection of the crime or the criminal, subjecting the person to criminal liability or punishment, implementation of punishment or its unserved part, or security or educational coercive measures – committed by a group of persons by prior agreement).

Necessary evidentiary and procedural actions are being carried out in the criminal proceedings, including the interrogation of numerous persons with witness procedural status.

We also contacted lawyer Emin Khachatryan, asking when Nver Tsarukyan would return to Armenia. He indicated that there would be news soon and, if necessary, he would make an official statement.
