Mataghis soil was in Arsen’s pocket: Arsen Nikoghosyan received the rank of lieutenant on the battlefield
Arsen Nikoghosyan, who died in the 44-day Artsakh war unleashed by Azerbaijan, was drafted into the army on 12 January, 2019. He served in Mataghis.
“Arsen was an enlightened person and there is no one who communicated with him who does not have that opinion. When I needed advice or something to share, I turned to Arsen first,” his uncle’s daughter, Mary Poghosyan says.
According to her, everything in her brother’s life had to be arranged and he did not want to escape from the military service, that is why he returned to his homeland from the Russian Federation to pay his debt to the motherland.
“I told him: don’t go, dear Arsen, you will serve here, but he didn’t listen, he decided that he must definitely serve in Armenia,” his mother, Narine Poghosyan says.
She remembers that when the war started, they were not in the country, Arsen called them and told that he was in a safe place and that they should not worry about him.
“On 4 October, he called me and said, “Congratulations, Mummy, your son is a lieutenant. Then they told me that he was able to lead the soldiers to fight, he was very brave,” his mother says.
Arsen Nikoghosyan was born on 30 July, 2000. He died in the battles for the defense of the homeland on 13 October, 2020.
