All the Rapid Response Groups of the Human Rights Defender’s Office are in Police Departments. They make full efforts to ensure the rights of the accused.

It is particularly clarified that the detainee, regardless of whether he/sh was transferred to the Police Department within the framework of administrative or criminal proceedings, enjoys internationally provided rights guaranteed by the RA constitutional amendments of 2015.

These rights are at least the following:

• immediate notification of the reasons for his detention in a language understandable to him;

• keep silence;

• informing the person on detainee’s choice about the location of the detainee;

• the right to defender;

• medical examination, including at the expense of own funds, by a physician whom he chose,

• Notification of Rights.
