The preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on the use of violence against a representative of authorities has been completed in Shengavit Investigation Division of the General Investigation Department of the Police. The prosecutor who supervised the preliminary investigation of the criminal case has confirmed the bill of indictment.
On 6 May, 2012, at 19:07, an information was posted on the lragir.am website as to which a policeman was attacked in the precincts 11/27 and 11/28 placed in School 110. An unknown person beat him near the precinct as a result of which the policeman’s lip was torn.
The Working Group of the General Prosecutor’s Office sent the article to Shengavit Prosecutor’s Office. The Prosecutor of the administrative district tasked Shengavit Investigation Division of the Police to check the circumstances mentioned in the article.
It has turned out that the citizen Arthur Ghazaryan, who was drunk, used violence and caused light bodily injuries to the policemen Shaliko Gomcyan and Levon Iskandaryan who were on duty in the mentioned precinct.
As it has been informed to the “Factinfo” News Agency from the Press Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office that, according to the preliminary investigation data, A. Ghazaryan did not obey the policemen, scolded them and punched Shaliko Gomcyan on the face and tore his upper lip causing light damage to his health. Then he pulled and tore Shaliko Gomcyan’s suit pocket and shoulder straps. Afterwards, A. Ghazaryan used violence not dangerous for health against Levon Iskandaryan, punched him on the face wounding his upper and lower lips.
Arthur Ghazaryan has been accused according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and was arrested.
The criminal case has been sent to the Court of First Instance of Shengavit administrative district.
