New Incident in Baghramyan Avenue

After 23:00 silence must be kept. Valeri Osipyan, Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police stated 9n Baghramyan Avenue. “Listen, do what you are told. How many times shall we explain to you?” – Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police shouted angrily when the organizer of the Initiative failed to apply to the protestors with request to keep silence.

Then the organizers of the initiative applied to the demonstrators noting that after 23:00 is an hour of silence and the rules of coexistence should be kept. After that the protestors began chanting even more loudly.

We do not wish to have any problems with you, we are one of you and we urge you let our relations stay in the framework of constructive cooperation. You are violating the rules of coexistence, we are in a a residential area, your actions are disproportionate, you disturb the constitutional right to res of other citizens.  Keep silent; otherwise the police will consider that you are doing this deliberately, to provoke a clash with police,” concluded the Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police.

Notably, during the night (from 23.00 to 7.00) breach of silence, a loud singing or playing musical instruments or sound signals or use TV, radio, tape recorder or other device in the flats of residential buildings or in residential areas or yards or streets or other public places or conducting noisy work which are not of urgent necessity out of those areas, as well as other such activities, which are disturbing the night peace is considered an administrative offense.
