“I had done everything properly,” the Final Plea of the Doctor charged in the Child’s Death

Although the verdict on the case of the death of 2.5-year-old Lia Misakyan should have been announced today at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun Administrative Districts of Yerevan, but judge remembered that neither the representative of the victim had made a remark nor the defendants made their last plea.

Artur Sakunts, the representative of the victim’s successor refused to make a remark. The two doctors, Lilit Vardanyan and Zarine Avetisyan, who were accused in the death of the child refused to make the final plea as well.

Lilit Vardanyan explained, “I do not think it makes sense to make the final plea, it will definitely not influence on your decision.”

She only referred to the diagnosis of the disease, “There is no such literature in the world, based on which you will be able to prove that I had made a correct or wrong diagnosis. Complications may develop during the days. Diagnoses were initial. There is also the order of the Ministry to put a new clinical diagnostics in three days. There was no need and necessity of further examination, and there is no literature in the world that may prove that I had done something defective or wrong. I did everything properly,” said the defendant.

Judge Levon Avetisyan went to the retiring room, stating that he would announce the decision on 15 June.
