“Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion” Project was presented at the Europe Day Exhibition

On 24 May, the the Europe Day Information Fair took place on the Northern Avenue in Yerevan.

“Our world, our dignity, our future,” this is the motto for this year’s European development. “This is a perfect context for the discussion of partnership and cooperation between the EU and Armenia. EU and Armenia have agreed to cooperate in the areas of mutual interest such as human rights and democracy, education, culture, poverty reduction, justice, business and migration, the environment and agriculture. Today you have the opportunity to learn about the projects funded by the EU and some of its member states,” H.E. Traian Hristea, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia said at the beginning of the event.

The First Deputy Minister of Economy of the RA Garegin Melkonyan said that the EU projects should be made more intensively. “In order to make public the projects it is necessary to raise the awareness about the forms, criteria and conditions about the projects among the public and this event is aimed at achieving this,” the First deputy Minister said.

The Armenian Young Lawyers Association participated in the exhibition as well. AYLA presented the “Multi-Faceted Anti-Corruption Promotion” Project and the activities that are carried out in its framework.

“We have brought booklets, which we present to the citizens and explain to them what is implemented in the project framework. AYLA among other activities also provides free legal advice, compiles applications, and various types of other documents,” AYLA Advocate Mariam Zadoyan said. Arnold Vardanyan, the Legal Advisor of the Project said, “We ensure the rights provided in Article 20 of the Constitution, the right to legal aid. Citizens are pleased to visit our pavilion.”

Legal Advisor Tatevik Manukyan said that there are a lot of interested people, “We believe that the number of visitors will increase since from Monday. There were people who did not know about this project and the free legal advice provided in its framework”.

Ambassador H.E. Traian Hristea and The First Deputy Minister of Economy of the RA Garegin Melkonyan approached the AYLA pavilion as well. The AYLA members introduced to their attention information about the project and the implemented activities.
