On 22 January, at 05:50, Vardenis Police Department received a call from the security department of Sotk gold mine, informing that the officers of the security service had arrested a man in the raise of Sotk gold mine. The operative group which arrived to place arrested Arkadi S. (DoB 1985) on the suspicion of theft. According to the explanation of the arrested on 20 January at about 23:30 he entered raise # 40 of Sotk gold mine with the intention to extract rock and later to produce gold from it. But on 22 January at 04:30, when he was getting out of the raise he was arrested by the officers of the security department. Investigation is in process.
