According to Levon Barseghyna, the President of Asparez Journalists’ Club of Gyumri NGO, after the murder which took place on 12 January in Gyumri, the RF law enforcement authorities allowed illegal actions, “Such as conducting the search by the armed soldiers of the Russian Army in the territory of Gyumri, which they were not authorized to do. Caught the suspect independently, without informing the Armenian side about it and took the latter to their military base, which may be considered as abduction. These are corpus delicti, which are punished under the RA Law,” Mr. barseghyan mentioned
In his opinion those were episodes in the relation of which a criminal case should have been initiated on the order of the RA Prosecutor General, which was not realized.
He also spoke about the veracity of Valry Permyakov’s testimony, and referred to today’s statements of the Prosecutor General. In addition Mr. Barseghyan argued that no one had given guarantees to the Gyumri people that the same events may not occur the next day. “It should be told what activities are being undertaken to prevent the occurrence of such incidents.”
