“Halt! Or I’ll shoot!” Details about the Arrest of Suspect in Brutal Murder in Gyumri

Press Service of the Russian FSS in the Republic of Armenia provided to Iravaban.net the details of the arrest of a Russian military Permjakov Valeri, who is suspected of murdering a six family members in Gyumri. The release reads:

“In connection with the events in the city of Gyumri, the Border Control Administration of the Russian FSS in the Republic of Armenia carried out an enhanced Border Service mode. The whole section of the Armenian-Turkish border was closed by border squads led by officers to prevent possible passing of the intruder to the territory of the Republic of Turkey.

On 13 January, at 00:15 am the border guard, consisting of military men of Leninakan frontier detachment, at a distance of about 2000 meters revealed unknown person, moving toward the state border.

After the unknown approached the frontier detail, the senior officer commanded: “Halt!” But the intruder continued to move. Then, the border guard command: “Halt! Or I’ll shoot!” But this also did not stop the man. Then senior officer produced a single warning shot from the AK-74 and forced the offender to lie on ground face down. With precaution measures at about 700 meters north of the settlement Bayandur the border guards detained the unknown.

The intruder was dressed in civilian clothes. Personal search found no documents of identity. The intruder had three cell phones, an electric flashlight, and 6000 AMD.
The conducted filtration activities revealed that the detainee was soldier of the Military Base 102, private Permiakov V.P.”

On the decision of the chief of Border Guard Department of FSS of Russia in the Republic of Armenia, Major-General V. Biryukov, the detainee was transferred to the commander of the Military Base 102, in the presence of representatives of the military prosecutor’s office and the garrison and the military investigation department.
